Nigel R.T. Pashley, M.B., B.S., F.R.C.S., (C)., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Pashley was born in Nottingham, England. Educated in medicine at Guy’s Hospital, London 1966-1971, his house officer appointments were first at the Area Center for Neurology at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Surrey, England, and then in General Surgery and Neurosurgery at St. John’s General Hospital, Newfoundland, Canada.

During two years residency in General Surgery at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Dr. Pashley developed an interest in otolaryngology and then completed a three year residency in otolaryngology at McGill from 1973 to 1976. He was a McLaughlin Fellow from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada at the University of Iowa from 1976 to 1978 and then joined the faculty at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, as Assistant Professor from 1978 to 1981. From 1978 to 1979, the chairman at Michigan encouraged Dr. Pashley to develop his pediatric otolaryngology interests, particularly in airway reconstruction and hearing loss identification.

In 1981, Dr. Pashley joined the faculty of the University of Colorado at Denver as an Assistant and then Associate Professor in Otolaryngology and Pediatrics. In 1982, Dr. Pashley was appointed the first chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology at the Children’s Hospital, Denver and continued in this position until 1990. Dr. Pashley became Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics in 1984 when he entered private practice, and in 1990 he joined the staff of Presbyterian/ St. Luke’s Hospital, Denver, Colorado, with a group of pediatric medical and surgical specialist who continue to provide private practice pediatric care for the Rocky Mountain Region.
